Hello, I’m Alex, a passionate artist and small business owner who specializes in creating unique and captivating art and sculptures.

Based in Walsall, West Midlands, my roots lie in the beautiful county of Yorkshire. I’ve been bringing my art to life for the past 25 years.

My journey as an artist began with a deep love of fantasy, especially books that allow the imagination to run wild. The vivid images my mind created had to be brought to life, fueling my passion for creating unique, mixed-media pieces. I’m never satisfied working with just one medium.

My background is in Forensic Science, Microbiology, and Histopathology. During my career, art was always on the back burner but served as a sanctuary for me to escape to. During the COVID pandemic, my work environment changed drastically, exposing me to experiences I’d rather not endure again, like so many of my healthcare colleagues.

This period marked a turning point in my art. My work shifted from light and airy fantasy themes to darker creations. To this day, I continue to fluctuate between both styles.

At Dark Fairy Creations, I take pride in crafting one-of-a-kind pieces that resonate with my clients and reflect my artistic expression. My creations are often influenced by my mood or the environment around me at the time.

Each piece of art and sculpture I create is meticulously designed (in my head) and handcrafted using a variety of materials and techniques. Whether it’s a striking sculpture or a small, intricate diorama for a private space, my goal is to evoke emotion and inspire awe in every viewer.

In addition to my studio work (from my lovingly converted shed), I enjoy teaching sculpture at events and workshops. I believe in the power of art to connect people, create a positive impact, and bring joy. Showing others how to craft their own small sculptures and sharing my knowledge brings me immense satisfaction.

When I’m not creating sculptures, I love exploring new ideas and techniques. This helps me stay inspired and continuously evolve as an artist.
